The 8th PSYCHE "Fostering Sustainable Wellbeing through Ecopsychology and Cultural Heritage"

course

"FREE OF CHARGE. Responding to global priorities in advancing sustainable development and holistic wellbeing, the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), proudly presents The 8th PSYCHE Summer Course. This program is designed to foster international engagement and academic collaboration by connecting students, academics, and professionals from diverse cultural and disciplinary backgrounds. In 2026, the Summer Course adopts the theme “Fostering Sustainable Wellbeing through Ecopsychology and Cultural Heritage.” The theme underscores the deep interdependence between human wellbeing, the natural environment, and cultural heritage. It brings attention to the role of ecological consciousness and cultural values in responding to pressing psychological and societal concerns, such as environmental degradation and growing mental health challenges. This program provides an immersive and enriching learning experience that blends conceptual understanding with hands-on and community-oriented activities. Participants will be introduced to fundamental ideas in ecopsychology, engage directly with local cultural traditions, and explore how indigenous and traditional knowledge can enhance sustainable wellbeing and resilience at both personal and collective levels. The learning process is structured through a combination of interactive lectures, cultural engagement sessions, and experiential field activities. These components are designed to deepen participants’ insights into how nature-based and culturally rooted practices can contribute to psychological wellbeing and sustainable lifestyles. Ultimately, the program aims to cultivate global perspectives, encourage meaningful intercultural connections, and inspire participants to develop innovative and context-sensitive approaches to promoting sustainable wellbeing across different communities."
